MEDIA PARTICIPATION & CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AMONG YOUTH – GOOD PRATICES FROM NORWAY

The aim of this work is to determine the current state of the influence of building media competences on civic engagement in the Norwegian context. Media literacy is one of the key aspects of civic activity conducted to a varying extent. Unfortunately, research in this area indicates that civic engagement among young people is generally insufficient and is only to a small extent related to the use of electronic media. In the Norwegian context, however, we can talk about the development of experiences of cross-sectoral cooperation concerning civic engagement of young people through or with the use of media.
